PART 5 OF THE GOSPEL, LIBERATION FROM HATRED AND GUILT

LIBERATION FROM GUILT
FORGIVENESS IS A SNARE!
HATRED IN DISGUISE

LIBERATION FROM GUILT

Guilt is caused by belief in free choice. Guilt is the perception you have that you are a bad person and should be made to pay for the badness in you. Guilt is useless because the past is over and this moment is another moment. It is a new moment from which change is possible. Guilt looks back to the past when what you should be feeling is optimism that you will do something to correct the evil you have done as far as you can and that you have learned from your mistake. Guilt is the feeling that you want to suffer for what you did wrong and it is one fulfilment of that desire for it is painful. It is a disorder because it is wanting to be happy and believing that you should be happy that can get you started improving and clear up the mess. It does not matter how common something is, that does not make it normal. Only reason can say for sure what is normal.

Do away with the concept of deserving punishment – the fact that you never work to earn self-esteem but just break down the internal barriers that prevent it being unleashed in you proves that the concept of deserving is bad news. No matter what you have done in the past the only thing you deserve is the power to live a good life and be happy. Redemption is better than punishment. If you believe you should be punished then you are in trouble. All this is true even if you do believe in free will and that punishment is what we deserve because the deserving bad is blanked out by the deserving good. You deserve all good and the reason you deserve it is because of what you are and not because of what actions you perform. What you are is a conscious intelligent being who can be happy or unhappy and that automatically tells you that you should be happy. Babies cannot do good or evil but they “deserve” to be happy because they are babies.

The effective way to deal with guilt when it appears is to refute its accusations against you and its will to punish you by doing as much good as you can and as soon as possible. Prove it wrong.

FORGIVENESS IS A SNARE!

Forgiveness is deciding that some wrong you believe a person did of their own free will does not matter anymore. It is a form of mercy which reduces or cancels the punishment a person deserves. You become their friend again and refuse to treat them with the anger they deserve. People say forgiveness is not weak and is not pretending that the wrongdoing was not so bad after all but is about freeing yourself and hopefully the offender from bad feelings to live better in the future. In practice it is saying the wrongdoing is nothing to worry about. A bit of anger can be a good thing. It is what you do with it that counts. There is no doubt that forgiveness has the same results as condoning which is pretending that the past evil does not matter. In practice and in theory they are the same so forgiveness is hypocritically rewarding evil. You can be upset at the loss of life a murderer caused but not be upset about the abuse of his will which led to that so forgiving does not mean you will be upset no more about the deaths. To say a past evil you did with your free will does not matter is the same as saying that you don’t matter for you can go beneath yourself and should. Forgiveness is evil. The excuse for making a distinction between forgiving and condoning is that you can forgive and still punish for punishment is intended for the person’s own good and everybody else’s. The punishment has nothing to do with the evil act for it has been pardoned. It’s done for other reasons so it is not really punishment but glorified revenge. At the same time we are still dealing with condoning here. It’s a confused mixture. Sometimes people who condone have to send the criminals they condoned to jail. You should punish because you condemn and you have decided not to condemn therefore to punish would be revenge and inconsistent with heartfelt forgiveness.

We do not believe in forgiveness for there is nothing to forgive when choice does not exist. Do not hold grudges. There is nothing to forgive and keep affirming and believing that and the grudge will disappear. True - other people should not have hurt you, but they were not in their right minds when they hurt you. A grudge is an act of self-hatred because it prolongs the pain and the hurt in yourself. It is crazy to hold a grudge against a person who slaps you in the face when by holding the grudge you are creating more pain for yourself than that person ever created for you. Most of the time, we hold grudges against people we do not know that well while we love our friends though they have done worse. That is harmful thinking and is caused by unfair suspicion. Let go of the personal antagonism but do not forget the offence when it is necessary to remember. It is true that we encourage crime by not holding any spite but as the criminal has no free will there is no room for spite at all and so we cannot hold any.

The fact that there are many evils that can be inflicted on us that we do not fear as much as others or perhaps do not fear at all shows that we are in control of our reactions and that gives us hope and confidence that we can win and be happy despite what life throws at us.

I forgive because I feel like it not because I think I should therefore I am condoning the offence for I ignore the offence and just worry about what I feel. Anything I do I do it for my indulgence. Therefore I do not really forgive my enemy because if I did I would be doing it for their sake too which is one of the things forgiveness is supposed to be about. Forgiveness is a sanctimonious sham and all shams are detrimental to the health of the mind. We reject forgiveness; it is letting go we believe in. We believe in the real thing. Not doing it forces the past to have an unhealthy hold on you and make you afraid and fear breeds more fear and more evil and those who work and live with us will be affected by it. Most of your problems will be instantly solved if you let go.

Forgiveness is evil because it rewards an evil that is freely brought into existence. We behave much the same way as people who forgive do but that is not because we condone but because we have to do it for criminals have been perverted by forces not under their control. That is why we have to put up with the same bad consequences that come about when people forgive.

Without forgiving and instead replacing it with an understanding that ceases to want to hurt the wrongdoer but wants to help them live as decent people we avoid the pitfall of pretending we can love the sinner and not the sin which is plainly seen to be hypocrisy when you translate it as blame the sin and not the sinner and is more positive and encouraging for no condemnation is involved.

Understanding and letting go of the past is what we believe in and we must remember that it is not other people that we have to do this for because when we hold a grudge the true target of the grudge is ourselves and we only kid ourselves that it is the person(s) who hurt us we hate. The grudge only hurts you and is you punishing yourself for wrong being done to you. To accept and love yourself is the only thing you need to do and the only way to have affection for others.

HATRED IN DISGUISE

The doctrine that you must love the sinner, a sinner is a person who freely does wrong against God and deserves punishment, but hate the sin is a subtle way of telling you to hate the sinner’s guts but to hide it under sugary self-righteous hypocrisy. Hate always involves judging another person as bad but does not necessarily have to involve intense emotional dislike. To enjoy hurting a person without having an intense dislike for that person is the worst hatred of the lot for it is controlled and devious and you can cover your tracks instead of being carried away by your feelings. To accuse people of sin or of freely doing wrong using their free will is incitement to hatred.

It is easier not to give a toss about people than it is to hate them with strong dislike. This indifference is the worst hatred of the lot because you consent to be indifferent which is an act of hate for it seeks to hurt the person and to approve if that person is destroyed. The person that hates you might not go that far. So indifference is the true opposite to love and not hate but it is based on hate so it is hating and not caring at the same time just like we can care about a person one way and not care another. Free willism and its daughter religion incite to hatred and indifference for they teach that evil doing is done by persons who create evil and are not programmed to do it. The law must start coming down on incitement to indifference as strongly as it does on hatred.

If you hate the sin you hate the evil will in a person. But the will is part of the person so that means you hate the person too for it is the person doing the willing. It is far better to be a person who openly hates than one who hides it and lets it simmer and fester in the background. But hate is futile because there is no sin. And there is no sin because there is no such thing as choice or free will and because your enemies like you to hate them for the feeling is eats at you. There is no immorality in your enemy. There is just someone that needs to be helped on the way to reform and they will reform if the right buttons are pressed.

To believe in free will and say John was the origin of a hateful act is to say that John is hateful for John did the act.

Nobody says you must trust the sinner but not the sin which shows they do not mean it when they say they love the sinner and hate the sin for they are not making a separation.

We unbelievers in free will are able to hate the evil a person does without hating the person for we see the evil as something that has used the person and not as something the person uses or causes. When I do wrong it is not I that is doing the wrong but the forces in me and when I perceive that to be true I can love myself more easily and change for the better for I see my evil side as something outside of me that has no power over me if I stop letting it have the power which is done by enlightening myself. It is forces that take control of the mind that we see as unworthy of trust not persons. We may have to treat a person as shifty but we know it is not the person that is shifty but a disorder in the person. We must see each one of us as basically good and intrinsically good and recognise that we are just victims of evil no matter what evil we do.

Our philosophy is the only real hope for changing the world which is why we make no apology for seeking to fuse the denial of free will with state legislation. And why not when laws for condemning incitement to hatred can’t be of any use when hatred is being smuggled in the back door? If you hate another person you hate yourself for you know it is better to look on the good side of that person for hate is painful and should be done without. So you must care about yourself really and truly and others will grow around you and become blessings for you. Think of your evil side as something that is not really part of you and your self-esteem will flourish. You need good philosophy and understanding to make good sensible laws and our views of right and wrong are simple and verifiable and so the state must be influenced by them if it is to do better than it does.

The doctrine of free will commands hate for it blames people for what they do and there is no need for blaming and it therefore denies that all people are equally precious. How? Because they are people even if it says it doesn’t for to say unjust blaming is right is to deny that all people have the same rights. We deny free will and that is how we can declare persons to be equally valuable in every way. We see human evil as distorted good that needs to be fixed but not hated or condemned.
